Student Success Leaders

The Student Success Leader (SSL) program is designed to help participants develop and grow as leaders. Participants learn through volunteer work in various Student Affairs units. Each placement focuses on providing support to students on campus. Our main focus is on YOUR growth as a student leader. There are opportunities for training, goal-setting and ongoing personal and professional development through this program – great preparation for future employment and post-graduate experiences!

We are looking for over 120 SSLs for 2012/2013 for roles in 13 different units across campus. Please look over the unit profiles to learn more about the different positions available.

Benefits to being a Student Success Leader:

  • Gain valuable skills and experience ranging from program and event planning, workshop facilitation, one on one helping, advocacy and resource development
  • Provide services and programs to assist fellow students
  • Receive on going professional development opportunities such as core training, unit specific training and the new annual IGNITE SSL Leadership Conference
  • Receive coaching from a full time Student Affairs professionals and experienced SSLs
  • Acquire excellent team work experience
