Fall Career Fair

The largest career event at McMaster University, Career Fair 2011 offers a forum for you to meet face-to-face with employers and make career connections.

The 2011 fair will be taking place on Thursday, September 22 at the David Braley Athletic Centre between 10am-3pm.   Attending career fairs give you an opportunity to build your network, apply for career positions and explore opportunities.   Organizations attending have made a conscious decision to attend and are there to specifically meet McMaster students.

Don’t let your friends tell you about the recruiters they met the day after the event - make sure you are there to find out for yourself and explore the many career paths and opportunities available.

Networking Breakfasts

Events such as our annual Networking Breakfasts are a great opportunity for you to network with career professionals and receive first-hand information about career information, trends in the industry as well as employment opportunities.

Students who attend the Networking Breakfasts have the opportunity to spend time with each professional in attendance and gather information, ask questions and gain “real world” knowledge about various career paths within a particular industry or sector. These events are industry or sector specific and are offered during the academic term.

We are excited to announce the Networking Breakfasts planned for 2011-2012:

  • Human Resources Networking Breakfast
  • Communications and Multimedia Networking Breakfast

For information on upcoming Networking Breakfasts, check OSCARplus under the Student Success Centre Events tab.

Information Sessions

Company Information Sessions provide you with an opportunity to meet recruiters face-to-face and learn about a company’s organizational culture, recruiting process and job opportunities.

These events are usually held weekday evenings and last approximately 2 hours.  Employers attend these events to network with students and young alumni who are interested in their company. A listing of all Company Information Sessions taking place during the Fall and Winter terms is available on OSCARplus.

Students must register for the majority of the sessions taking place and adhere to the dress code guidelines as specified by the employer and under the Student Accountability Policy.

For students not in their final year, Company Information Sessions are a great place to conduct career research and gather information.
