MACademic sessions will help you learn what to expect in your first year of classes and the services that are offered by the university. There will be several guest speakers from different programs and first year courses. Check back during the summer on how to register for upcoming sessions. Check out the videos and some of the past sessions from 2011. First Generation Students -If you are a student whose parents did not attend post-secondary education in Canada, learn more about the resources available to assist you with a successful transition to university and campus life. How to Succeed in Lectures and Evaluations -Want to know exactly what lectures will be like, their structure, about writing essays or labs, and how to write exams, come and learn. Mock lecture and real exam questions are included. Things I wish I knew in my 1st year -If you are unsure of what to expect with dates and deadlines, how departments work, what they do, about your finances, and questions for upper years, this is the session for you. Effective Note Taking -If you want to learn about note taking in university, how to develop your skills in note taking, and learn with real examples, come visit this session. Student Accessibility Services -Learn about the academic accommodation process, documentation requirements and other resources that are available. |
